Remember when things could ‘Only Get Better’.

Here’s one from the archive, though designed almost a decade ago it still looks a lot fresher. The new UK Government had set out to bring the development and trade agendas even closer together. Trade continues to be of immense importance to developing countries and to the UK alike. To support this idea the Department for International Development and Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform created the Trade Policy Unit, brining together more than 70 trade and development experts from the two departments.

Tradewire delivered a central information resource, a blogging platform and an aggregated ‘news wire’ from external sources. It would build into a resource and hub for collaboration. Once bedded in individual users could add notes to any items within the website.

There are certain rules when designing for Government and the Crown in general. Clarity, consistency and respect for heraldic devices are only a few of the considerations. So keep it simple and keep it clear. When created the total final applications were unknown.
